From our bride’s point of view:
We explored Chicago for a few months looking for the perfect venue to host an intimate wedding that was both charming and glamorous. We stumbled across Salvatore’s Ristorante, a classic Italian restaurant and event venue, and knew we found something extra special. With my groom’s Italian roots and our vision of hosting a spectacular art deco-style wedding in the city, the two worlds seemingly combined to create the wedding of our dreams!
We started the day with each of us getting ready in separate suites at Public Chicago, a newly renovated hotel with roots dating back in the 1920s making it the perfect setting for our deco-themed wedding. Guests rode a classic city trolley from the hotel to St. Clement Catholic Church for a mid-afternoon wedding ceremony, followed by wedding party photos in Lincoln Park, before heading to cocktail hour at Salvatore’s Restaurant, on the discreet Arlington Place in the heart of the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
The décor at Salvatore’s was a mix of vintage mercury glass vases, towering candelabras, countless tea lights and lush floral arrangements of seasonal lilies, hydrangeas, and peonies in soft whites by Stemline Creative, set over floor-length ivory linens that created a soft glow for an intimate summer evening. Guests enjoyed a full five-course dinner completed with an antipasto platter, calamari, farfalle alla vodka, filet mignon and salmon. Dinner was followed by a family-made sweets table that included miniature cupcakes, cannolis, tiramisu, Italian cookies and homemade gelato before guests danced the night away to classic and contemporary tunes spun by Spencer from Style Matters. Laughs and memories were made by all with art-deco themed props in the photo booth by Memento Photo Booth. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to share our love with friends and family.
